Apart from that, it can’t be upgraded to Monterey. Unfortunately, Patched Sur support us coming to an end later this year. Patched Sur works by patching macOS, but it seems that OCLP works by patching the Mac itself to make it think it’s a later model. There’s also another one called Big Mac Patcher, which I hardly know anything about. I know I could install Patched Sur on my MacBook in less than an hour, but I’m not sure how to use Opencore Legacy Patcher (OCLP), although I’ve watched some videos and read a lot about it. I had no idea that rain might come through one skylight but not the other one and that I wouldn't even hear it. I had only recently managed to open my Velux skylights for the first time. I'm very careful, but I was in another room at the time which was somehow shielded from the rain. In the past on another MacBook Pro of the same model I used Patched Sur, but that MacBook Pro got liquid damaged when it rained through a skylight and it was before Monterey was released. I recently upgraded my MacBook Pro 9.2 (mid 2012, non Retina) from an HDD to an SSD and now I’ve bought 16Gb RAM for it, so I also want to upgrade the macOS from Catalina to Big Sur, and I’m hoping to upgrade it to Monterey after that.
